Check out what’s going on in Citizenship, Discovery, Innovation, and Leadership during the month of February:
Citizenship Academy
- The latest Revolutionary Lunch was held on Friday, February 1st. Students interested in making a global impact were invited to learn about what the Peace Corps does, how they could join, and what it would be like to live and learn in another country.
- Citizenship will host guest speaker Ndidiamaka Nwakalor on Wednesday, February 13th. Nwakalor, an Albany High alumnus who has traveled to Namibia in southwest Africa, will discuss information computer technology. Students can sign up in the Citizenship office or on the Citizenship Academy website.
Discovery Academy
- Nineteen art students have work on display in the New York State Boards Association Dodge Gallery in Latham. Works featured include drawings, paintings, photographs, and digital prints. The exhibit runs through mid-March.
Innovation Academy
- The latest Food for Thought Power Lunch was held on Friday, February 1st. Two college students explained the various possibilities offered by and applications of lighting and the electromagnetic spectrum through exciting demonstrations with different light prototypes.
Leadership Academy
- Leadership will be working with the district ESL department to host a Multicultural Festival Celebration here at AHS on Saturday, March 2nd, from 11:30-3:00. The event will feature music, dance, and food, and community groups and businesses will be on hand to share information about their products and services.
