Mock Trial Makes The Finals

Jillian Katz, Staff Writer

The Albany High mock trial team argued their way right into the finals!

This year their case is a civil case of Remington Stone vs Marley Miser. In this case, Remmington (the plaintiff) was injured while working on a worksite rennovating the home of Miser (the defense) and is suing him for his injuries and possible inability to work again. On the defense side, the lawyers consist of Katie Myers, Arianna Costello, and Grace Ustin, and for witnesses, Alpha Mathai, Ryan O’Connor, and Sienna Stewart. On the plaintiff’s side, the lawyers include Kevin Mcleod, Sarah Heller, and Olivia Penna, and witnesses Anna Ustin, Hailey Farrel, and Anya Miller. Ms. Leah Evans is the head of the club, Judge Joshua Farrell is the defense team’s lawyer, and Ms. Carolyn George is the plaintiff team’s lawyer.

In the first trial they played as the defense against Catholic Charities and won. In the next trial, they were the plaintiff against Albany Academy and unfortunately, they lost but did get enough points to progress into the next round. In the latest trial, they were against CBA as the defense, and after much deliberation from the judge, they won! After a Victory against Albany academy as the defense. They are excited to start the season off strong next year and are looking forward to new members.
