The stage in Albany High School’s auditorium awaits promising new actors this year. Those who are ready to move an audience to new heights in emotion, who are ready to induce tears of joy; you are needed.
This year the show is a musical known as Smokey Joe’s Cafe, which will be held March 6th through 8th at 7pm and on March 9th at 2pm. Smokey Joe’s Cafe is a modern compostition including popular rock songs such as “Stand By Me” by John Lennon and “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley.
An old favorite making its return this year is the Promising Playwrights Festival, from May 29th-the 31st at 7pm. The festival is a series of ‘World Premieres’ or plays written by the prestigious students of Albany High School’s new After School Performance Studies course, taught by the well-known and respected Ward Dales.
